WesBank Unable to Explain Ownership Issue After Settlement and Failing to Provide Updates

I am extremely disappointed with the way WesBank has handled an issue relating to a motorcycle that I financed through them.

I purchased and financed a KTM motorcycle through WesBank in November 2018. The finance agreement was settled in full, yet I was never provided with ownership/title documentation following settlement.

When attempting to sell the motorcycle, I discovered that it had been deregistered and that I was unable to transfer ownership because there was no valid ownership documentation available.

After opening a complaint with WesBank, I received conflicting information. I was initially advised that WesBank never had the NaTIS documentation. Following further investigation, WesBank informed me that:

WesBank was the title holder when the finance agreement commenced. Approximately three weeks later, A WestBank approved dealer was apparently reflected as both owner and title holder. They subsequently obtained duplicate registration documents and deregistered the motorcycle in 2019. The motorcycle was never registered in my name despite me being the financed purchaser.

To this day, nobody has been able to explain how ownership and title holder details changed after the finance agreement commenced, nor why a third party was able to deregister the motorcycle without my knowledge or involvement.

The result is that I am unable to legally transfer or sell an asset that I purchased and financed.

My frustration is compounded by the poor service and communication from WesBank. The matter was allegedly escalated to regional management and the dealer on 13 May 2026. I was then assigned a new case handler Elliot (The first cast handler at least would try to resolve and would give timeously updates). He advised me telephonically that feedback would be provided on Friday.. I followed up in writing on Monday and, despite repeated requests, have received no response. A week later and still waiting..........

At this point, I am not only dealing with an unresolved ownership issue, but also a lack of communication, missed commitments, and an apparent inability to provide a clear resolution path. So much for the service recovery advisor......
