WesBank: treats its clients with disdain
WesBank and its mandated attorneys treat their clients with disdain! I am the executor of my late father's estate. I was approached by one of their mandated attorneys who offered me a significant settlement discount (50%) on the account's outstanding balance. I immediately accepted the offer (in writing). However I was not informed that I only had 7 days to come up with close to R300 000 make payment. It took me approximately 10 days to source an approved buyer for the vehicle. I then informed the attorneys that I had a buyer and requested a settlement letter but was ONLY THEN INFORMED that the settlement discount had expired and I was now expected to settle the account in full! I then tried contacting their attorneys as well as Wesbank's deceased estates department directly. The attorneys would now not return my calls (because they knew they messed up by not informing me of about the 7-day expiry of the offer). Then I contacted Wesbank directly but was vaguely informed (by telephone) that the offer had indeed expired and that there was "nothing they could do to assist me". How disgusting!!! All of this was communicated to me over the phone and have not received anything in writing to date! And i've tried logging a formal complaint on their website but the site conveniently buffers endlessly every time I click 'submit'
