WESBANK TOO KEEN ON REPOSSESSING VEHICLE
I have had vehicle finance with wesbank from Oct 2013 which laspes in sept 2019. I have, until late last year, honoured all installments on the account. It was around November last year that I started experiencing financial difficulties and defaulted in 6 months' installments.
My situation has since improved and currently the debit orders on my account have been honoured since May. The challenge I have is settling the arrear amount of R18600. I was in contact with an agent and had proposed to adjust (increase) my installments over the remaining term of the contract), which offer was ignored by bank. Alternatively I had proposed to pay R3 925 every month from July to December 2018 to settle arrears, while normal installments still go off my account. That has unfortunately, also been ignored by the bank. Today, I received a mail from attorneys, giving me notice of the legal action (repossession) that Wesbank is pursuing. I feel like the bank is being unreasonable, esp considering thr fact that I have been paying religously for a very long time into the term of loan, and are not willing to allow me to maintain contract (with only R54000 left of oustanding debt)
I now face losing the vehicle that I have paid since 2013 (save the unpaid 6 months) and possibly coughing up shortfall of auction and legal fees.
I am tarnished.
