WESBANK REPOSSESSION AFTER ONLY MISSING 2 PAYMENTS
3 Years ago I bought a Kia Picanto and Financed it through Wesbank. On the 20th of July my car was reposesed after I only missed 2 payments but were in communication with my premier banker to pay the outstanding balance once we arrive back in SA as I work in the UAE. I have been having some difficulties with my FNB account from that side.
I have now been trying to resolve this issue since then. Here are some of the facts relating to the reposession of my car:
I never received a summons or any information on my updated details that were all changed with Wesbank on numerous occasions. Wesbank never informed me that they removed the vehicle from my name at a date that the car's payments were actually up to date and made regularly again. I checked my bank statements and at the date of 18 April 2018 (the date on the warrant), I had made consecutive payments every month to try and get the account up to date. So even after Wesbank was receiving money every month they still issued the Warrant For Delivery of Goods. I spoke to Wesbank and FNB on so many occasions, calling them from the UAE and via email and no one informed me of any Summons or that that the account was even handed over for collection. The warrant officer handed me a document with Tipex on it. The date had been changed without any signature or reason on the warrant.
I keep getting unhelpful responses from Wesbank customer service representatives and even the attorneys at Smit Jones and Pratt. The attorney or case representative at Smit Jones and Pratt can not even give me any details on the account and Ms Mann just plainly says she does not care as the account is now closed on their side because they did their job. Really? Is this the type of customer service Wesbank stands for after a client pays a car for more than 3 years? I even received my statements via my "new" email from Wesbank but no summons or any information from a collection agent.
