Wesbank profits on income generated due to them not keeping their promises, and not not answer emails and calls.

I had a vehicle financed with Wesbank, here is my story:

1) On 4 January 2016 the vehicle was written off.

2) On 25 February 2016 the entire vehicle loan was settled directly by my insurer. The settlement amount was AGREED upon between Wesbank and my insurer, and the amount was paid VERBATIM.

3) On 17 April 2016 I received a statement - to my surprise - from Wesbank, claiming an outstanding amount of R787.45 + Intereste from the 25th of Feb up to then amount to a total of R1487.99

-I promptly rep**** by email and I followed up with a telephone call - both of which had no response from Wesbank. Here is a copy of the wording on my email:

"Hi Service

From my statement it is not entirely clear on whether I should make some sort of final payment?

The vehicle was written off and the account settled by my insurer. So if I do need to make a payment please do explain the reason behind it.

Regards"

4) On 19 May 2016 the process in step 3) above was repeated - only now hte outstanding amount has grown to R1667.55. I emaild and phoned - no response from Wesbank. When I did phone, no one knew which department was supposed to help me, and no one cared. The email sent did get some sort of automated response referring me to a "Lorraine Mazibuko" - but she never contacted me or tried to resolve my problem.

5) On 17 August 2016 (four months after my first attempt to get Wesbank to help me) I received a Legal warning from some sort of Wesbank legal department (Colsol.co.za) - threatening me with blacklisting. I promptly rep**** to this email and was able to talk to one Meshack Nenjelele. I explained the situation to him (by then the outstanding amount was R2221.93) and he agreed all my debt will be settled should I pay only R1783.22 - the amount which was outstanding at the time of my first letter to them (or somehting like that). Wilst writing this letter, I came to a shocking discovery that even the payment of this amount meant Wesbank was effectively taking (can I call this *****ing) an amount of about R1000 from me.
I made payment after receiving an official PDF promising me that the amount will be the final - hoping that this issue was finally sorted...

6)Boy - was I wrong!! Today (18 September 2016) I just received ANOTHER statement from Wesbank... It shows the payment (as agreed with Meshack) but EVEN STILL shows another R618 outstanding... UNBELIEVABLE...

Conclusion:

Wesbank broke their promise (with regards to settling the account) on two occasions: 28 Feb (initial settlement) and 17 August (Legal/colsol settlement). It is therefore safe to say that, even if I do pay the amount currently showing - I will forever remain a perpetual client of Wesbank, and will forever be blacklisted for paying and settling my debt (in time and as agreed with them).

Wesbank takes money that just are not theirs for the taking. I am not sure, but I think one can call this *****ing. A vehicle that was settled for on 26 February 2016, "miraculously" phatomed up a balance of R787.45 immediately after settlement was paid. Even though this was the "short" payment on the insurance settlement (and even though the amount settled was agreed to by both Wesbank and the insurer). I have paid R1783.22 and they still expect some R618.00 from me. To me this calculates to a ****** amount of R1613.77.

Wesbank does not answer emails or calls and seems to profit on the income they generate by not doing so.

Keep in mind that all of the above is for an account that was ALWAYS promptly paid, and keep in mind that all of the above was by following Wesbank's instructions VERBATIM...

You just cannot win. Wesbank effectively profits by their lack of service to you - the consumer. Why would they want to change this?
