Wesbank not FAIS compliant and can't even assist in supplying the correct insurer for Premium Life cover

My wife was diagnosed with a dread disease. I noticed on my one car premium cover that dread disease was covered but we didn't have Wesbanks policy wording for the car in my wife's name. So we contacted Wesbank and asked for the policy wording. The feedback: (18/7/16)

1. give Account number. We supp**** it. (20/7/16)

2. Give account number (on the same email string) We did again (25/7/16)

3. Wesbank replies and says they cannot find my wife's account. They ask for the account number again. We supp**** it. (27/7/16)

4. I ask for feedback seeing as I heard nothing from Wesbank. (29/7/16)

5. Yet again Wesbank ask for the account number. We send the entire statement with all the details (01/08/16)

6. I ask for feedback seeing as I had received none. (02/08/16)

(Melissa Adams from premier banking really tried to assist us. but Wesbank gave her no assistance whatsoever.)

7. Wesbank reply asking for a third party request form in order to give the information. (02/08/16) I rep**** that they do not have to give me anything. Just get back to my wife and assist her. They have her contact details.

8. I threatened to go to FAIS and then Patence Ramanugu contacted us. (05/08/16) and promised to help.

9. Yet again we were asked for the account number. (05/08/16)

10. I specifically emailed Patience, explained the entire story and asked her to contact my wife, via email or telephonically. JUST get in touch and give feedback.

11. On the 08/08/16 my wife correponded with Patience yet again.

12. On 10/08/16 Wesbank point blank refused to give my wife information regarding her own policy.

13. I then queried this. I was told by Patience Ramanugu to call Regent as the policy is covered by them. We did. Her ID number does not appear on their system.

14. On the 11th of August Curt Moonsamy emailed my wife and told her she could get her policy from IUA and gave her a number. My wife phoned and her ID does not reflect there either.

15. Two emails later Curt stopped responding to my wife and I.

16. On the 17th of August I sent an email to both Patience and Curt which they did not bother to respond to.

17. I then phoned and asked to speak with Wesbank's compliance officer, Heleen Grove. I left 4 voice mails asking her to call me back. Until now we have heard nothing.

According to FAIS legislation the following is applicable to Wesbank:

- contravened or failed to comply with the Act and which conduct has led to (or could lead to) the complainant suffering financial prejudice or damage;
- wilfully or negligently rendered a financial service that is likely to result in the complainant suffering financial prejudice or damage; or treated the complainant unfairly.

I would like to know why it is so difficult for Wesbank to supply my wife with the policy wording on her Premium life cover and then why they can't even tell her who is doing the insurance.

This is the most disgusting service I have EVER received from a company, EVER.

Okay so someone is going to phone us, you say. Now tell me. What are you going to do about our time, money and effort we had to put in to get any response out of you. Your service levels are unacceptable. So unacceptable that I can't even get to your FAIS officer to complain.

You also did not explain to me why you lost my wife's policy on your system. Surely you should know from the beginning who insures our premium VAP cover. Why do we have to nag, beg and fight with you to simply get a guess out of you.
