Wesbank is a ****
I bought a car for about R250k in January 2019. Installment was R5800 per month until it was involved in accident in June 2021 and was written off.
By that time balance was standing at R181k plus arrears of about R8k (+_R190k).
A settlement amount of R184k was reached and Insurance paid R171k as a settlement with a shortfall of about R14k that I had to settle personally, whereby I was told that an agent will call and arrange for payment terms and reregistration of the vehicle which didn't happen.
I called and I was sent from pillar to post until I lost hope and bought another car in July 2021.
In July 2022 when I renewed the disc for new vehicle, I was denied on the basis that I still owe the disc for written off car.
On investigation, I was told that the vehicle was not de-registered and I was in arrears of about R270k as the insurance didn't pay anything. I submitted a proof of payment and I was told wrong reference was used for that payment and money remained unaccounted for for a period of 14months.
Unfortunately when the money could be allocated correctly, the account had accumulated interests, Wesbank claimed that since settlement was not paid in full, I was liable for original amount and they only deducted what was paid asif I was paying for the arrears.
I disputed this and wesbank is hellbent in demnading the difference of about R75k that I must pay. These unjustified demands are channeled through different collections agents and I feel victimized
I've tried to make sense to them but seemingly it falls on deaf ears.
Since this has a negative implications on my credit profile,I request Hellopeter to assist me by investigating this matter fully
Seeing the abuse that I was exposed to since 2022, I believe I no longer owing Wesbank even that R14k which I tried to settle in the three Installments of R1.5k and I stopped due to this abuse of justice.
