WesBank: Claudia Louw as Marketer and Forced Warranty? Think twice before proceeding.
I you do decide to deal with WesBank Private to Private Finance and they assign Claudia Louw as the marketer, immediately request a different marketer or take your business elsewhere.
Dealing with Claudia Louw are at the top of my most frustrating experiences of all time. She is unresponsive on email communication and will rarely reply to your legitimate request for assistance in completing the transaction. Don't even think of calling her, I have attempted to speak to her 6 times over the past week and each time she is unable to take my call. The receptionist take my number and message for Claudia Louw to return my call, but to date she has not.
For instance, yesterday she mailed me the Dekra report to inspect and sign. I immediately opened the file and noticed it only contained one page. I requested Claudia Louw to resend the file, without surprise I am still waiting for her to respond. I resorted to mailing the seller to request a copy of the Dekra report in an attempt to complete the requirements and speed up the process.
You would also wan to reconsider using WesBank for a Private to Private finance deal as they will try to force a Warranty on you and make as if it is compulsory, even though it is not included as a requirement in any of the official documentation. To the contrary, Page 17, Point 22.9 of the Policy warns me that I as the consumer should not be pressurised into buying the product.
Furthermore, Page 6, Point 12 of the Policy states that I have the right to cancel the warranty and that the policy would be refunded to me on a pro-rata basis.
If I have the right to cancel the policy any time after inception, why am I pressurised in taking it in the first place?
After many emails, submissions of service records, giving evidence of previous WesBank P2P deals where I got the warranty waived and a statement that I will not seek any recourse from WesBank in case of a breakdown of component failure WesBank finally offered me the finance without the warranty or any value added products.
As a consumer I have the right to choose the products to be added and I should not have to jump through so many hoops to exercise my rights.
Just for WesBank's information, I tried twice on different devices to lodge my complaint via the dedicated compliment/complaints portal, but it failed as it does not go to step 3 where confirmation of the submission is provided.
