Wesbank Auction Midrand Noordwyk sells defective car

Bought a car at Wesbank Auctions Midrand Noordwyk on the 22/01/2026. Upon picking up the car on 23/01/2026, I realized it had a cringing sound at each turn and suspected it was the suspension I informed Carl the sales manager of this he test drove the car and told me it could be the brakes. I took the car to Tyres and more to be checked and it turned out the suspension was the issue. On Monday 26/01/2026 i drove back to wesbank auctions in midrand noordwyk and spoke to the Carl the sales manager again and explained to him that the car suspension was indeed the problem which was not mentioned as well as that it had a faulty wiring with the windows, which werent mentioned when purchasing the vehicle he was quick to dismiss me and told me the car is SOLD AS IS. they can only stipule visible defects and the ones they dont know thats at my own risk. Yet the CPA is very clear that voetstoots cars sold at a dealership they need to be of good quality, suitable for purpose and free of defects.Unless the buyer is fully informed and accepts the specific defects. He then brushed me off and told me they won't be taking the car, I than requested to speak to his manager ,whom I was told is on leave and would be returning on the 27/01/2026 , i then requested her contact details. After this encounter I spoke to Lee and explained what transpired with Carl, who also informed me that wesbank does not get the repossessed cars tested, so they wouldn't have known and only stipulate what is visible yet they failed to stipulate the car damages on the front left front were from a accident which is clearly visible to anyone and only specified that the car has dents and scratches. Lee went on to ask me to send them an email with the proof that the car was tested and suspension is faulty and the wiring and we'll take it from there. Genuinely appalled at how the wesbank sales managers handled this as i would expect them to know as a dealership what is required in terms of the CPA when selling a voetstoots
