WESBANK AND THE ENGINE ROOM - BEWARE!!!
I recently purchased a vehicle with finance from Wesbank. Soon after finalising the contract, I was called by various vendors - mostly insurance - offering me their products. One of those vendors was The Engine Room who, as I understand it, is affiliated to Wesbank but stand to be corrected. I listened to what was on offer and was almost tempted but after a rapid babble of words, I lost track of what the caller was saying and asked if the offer could be emailed to me so that I could read it in my own time. The very next morning there was a Welcome Letter and an insurance document in my mail box from The Engine Room who is linked to Wesbank. I tried to cancel this policy for FOUR DAYS and eventually succeeded with a confirmation letter from The Engine Room on the 9th October 2020. Lo and behold I received yet another welcome letter and policy document from them on the 29th October 2020!!?? What a complete waste of time and a hugely disappointing slant on Wesbank who clearly chooses to work with The Engine Room. After the first incident, I had a call from Clara Harvie from Wesbank who assured me that she would resolve this. I have tried to liaise with Ms Harvie this time round but with no success. I wonder why Wesbank would stoop so low as to link themselves to a host of pestering insurance concerns
