Wesbank.. a division of fnb.. how can they NOT help you?!
Hi,
I am currently in the process of getting a new car and have been a long standing premier customer with FNB. I have an excellent credit history and even have a homeloan with FNB which is almost paid off. For this reason I expect to get an excellent interest rate for my new car from Wesbank as they form part of FNB. However, this is sadly NOT the case. According to the dealership the best interest rate that I can be offered is prime plus 1.2. Which is ridiculous. Firstly, my homeloan has a lower interest rate of prime plus 0.7. Secondly, when I approached another bank personally, they offered me a rate of prime plus 0.75.... and they offered me this with being a normal retail client and not even a professional client with them, with the option of getting an even lower rate if I switch banking to them. So why is wesbank bull****ting around?! I do not think for any reason whatsoever that I should be getting anything more than the current prime rate. I have an fnb premier cheque and credit card and a homeloan with fnb, I have been dealing with fnb for more than 10 yrs and have an excellent record with them. This really is pathetic for a bank that I have been dealing with to come with such **** interest rates and expect me to just accept it. This is exactly why fnb is loosing so many customers. If u dont want our business just tell us.. there's plenty other banks out there offering much better rates than what you are offering. All we have to do is switch banks. Oh and the best (or shall I say worst) thing about this whole process is that when you go to fnb to deal with someone from wesbank to get a better rate as I have done, you get the response that you would have to call wesbank because there is no one at the bank that you can speak to. Then when you call wesbank, you get told you have to deal with the Wesbank person at the dealership.. who just bull****s you anyway. With other banks, you just walk in, speak to a consultant, and they are more than happy to assist you with your interest rate and will negotiate the lowest rate for you. So why all the run around with wesbank and still a poor interest rate offered???!!!! If wesbank does not come to the table with nothing less than prime, I will be forced to move my complete banking profile to the other bank who's more than willing to offer me the rate that I want if I just simply swap over. I expect a response from wesbank as to why they want to give me such a terrible rate when other banks are willing to offer me prime.
