Unhappy Client Review – WesBank & Motor Vintage (Body Line Maintenance Cover)

I have been a WesBank client since 2022, when I financed my vehicle. During the same period, I was offered a Body Line Maintenance Plan through a partner company (Motor Vintage / Motor Ride). I was advised that this cover would be beneficial and could potentially help manage future repair costs. After adding the cover, my monthly debit order increased from approximately R3,800 to R4,200. At the time, it was explained to me that the plan would run for 24–36 months, with an option to extend before expiry. Unfortunately, my experience since then has been extremely disappointing. Without any notification, communication, or consent: ⦁ The maintenance cover expired without my knowledge ⦁ I received no calls, emails, or reminders regarding the expiry or option to extend ⦁ However, I have continued being debited the same total amount up to today When I attempted to claim, I was informed by Phumezo (Motor Vintage) that: ⦁ The cover had already expired This came as a complete surprise, as I was never informed at any stage. When seeking clarity: Precious (WesBank)→ Redirected me to “Motor Ride” (which is the same as Motor Vintage) without addressing my query. ⦁ I was referred between WesBank and Motor Vintage / Motor Ride ⦁ Each party gave different and conflicting information about the expiry date ⦁ There was no clear accountability ⦁ I was repeatedly redirected instead of being assisted Eventually, I spoke to a consultant who confirmed Thapelo (WesBank)→ Confirmed that I am still being charged for the maintenance plan, but could not confirm when the cover expired and escalated the matter At no point did I receive a clear, consistent, or accountable response, and it appears that responsibility is being passed between parties without resolution: ⦁ I am still being charged for the maintenance plan ⦁ Yet the cover is no longer active, and even they could not confirm when it expired This situation raises serious concerns about: ⦁ Lack of communication ⦁ Billing transparency ⦁ Customer accountability ⦁ Internal coordination between service providers

Based on my experience, I am deeply concerned about the level of service, accountability, and transparency shown in handling this matter. There appears to be a lack of clear communication, as well as inconsistent and conflicting responses from different parties involved. As a customer, it is unacceptable to continue being billed for a service that is no longer active, without any form of notification or proper explanation. This has significantly affected my trust and confidence in both WesBank and its associated service providers. I strongly advise other customers to exercise caution when taking up additional cover products and please take these covers with other external car service providers, and they must not undermine some client as they seem to not care for black clients most of us are not happy with Wesbank, It is critical that financial institutions uphold fairness, transparency, and proper customer care, especially when handling products that involve long-term financial commitments.
