Unauthorized insurance added
This is for the benefit of all Wesbank customers. A few years back, i noticed that my car payment was increased without notification. After investigation it turned out that Webank loaded an inhouse vehicle insurance without notification or concent, even though I've and up-to-date insurance with Outsaurance, and have provided the documentation to them. Friday, my wife gets an SMS from them to says that they have done it again to her vehicle. and we had 7 days to provide documentation, that they have, or else she'll be automatically be added to a in house (Direct Axxess) insurance policy. Now that is both ********* and as far as we can establish from our attorneys not legal. Taking into account that there has been no interaction from them other than a non descriptive SMS. So please be vigilant to this, because trying to get them to reverse this is a long, painful and expensive process because their staff will drag this out as long as possible and are most unhelpful.
Thank you for your concerns highlighted.
Your vehicle is one of your most valuable assets and like you, we are concerned that you remain protected should your vehicle be ****** or written off. In terms of your credit agreement with WesBank you are required to purchase and maintain comprehensive insurance in respect of the vehicle while it is financed with us. Notwithstanding that you have supp**** us with a copy of your insurance at the inception of this agreement, WesBank have experienced that insurance details either change or lapse over this period of time. It is always in the interest of our clients and the Bank to ensure that the asset is covered to prevent financial losses to either party. Hollard and Direct Axis has been mandated by WesBank to contact you for proof of insurance.
You have been contacted by our insurance representatives and your policy has been updated.
Kind regards,
WesBank
