Unauthorised debit order

They just debited my account for the car insurance I never consented to,and never informed me that they were gonna take my money. Wesbank has agreements with Hollard to rob people with policies that we never signed or agreed upon and then they go straight to our accounts an take the money simply because they have the access to my account,I am frustrated because they took an amount of R1200 and I was not told of this and this amount was supposed to have been debited by other companies and now I will end up with unpaid debit orders,I want Wesbank to refund my money and honour the bank charges which I will have as a result of their actions.

Hello Nkululekos,

Thank you for raising your concerns with WesBank affording us the opportunity to clarify the purpose of this initiative.

WesBank, in conjunction with Hollard and Direct Axis, embarked on a large scale initiative to request confirmation from our customers that the financed vehicles are still comprehensively insured as a number of customers cancelled their comprehensive cover.

The terms and conditions signed by all customers include the subject of insurance and basically outlines the fact that the vehicle under finance must be comprehensively insured at all times throughout the contract period and that the Bank can request confirmation of this insurance at any time. It also indicates that the customer would have 30 days in which to confirm this cover. By signing the terms and conditions, customers agree that WesBank is entitled to arrange insurance cover as deemed necessary to protect their financial interests.

You will be contacted shortly to obtain your proof of insurance and to cancel the policy thereafter.

Kind regards,
WesBank
