Unacceptable debit order date change

I find it unacceptable that they can send me a sms an afternoon before the debit order goes off, stating that the collection date falls over the weekend 26th and now they will recover it on the 24th. Then they let me know not even 24h before the time but 15:00 the afternoon before. So where am I suppose to get funds if my salary won't be in yet. In todays times and age why cant the debit order run on the date. Do I get any discount on interest as it is paid before the time? Then I get held accountable if no funds and have to pay the penalty. It is not my fault. I signed for the 26th if each month when I get paid.
