Unacceptable conduct
In January 2019 I bought a car, 2010 VW Golf 6 Gti which was financed by VW Financial Services through Wesbank. The car was insured with Standard Insurance Ltd. The car was involved in an accident in June 2021 and was written off. A settlement quotation was agreed upon between the parties and payment of R171 050.00 was made to wesbank on the 15th July 2021 with a shortfall of about R14000.00. After receiving the settlement amount, Wesbank neglected the account. I later bought another car and financed by Standard Bank. On the 25th July 2021, Wesbank tried to deduct the installment for the settled car and I reversed it as I had to pay for another car and there was no further arrangement on the payment of the shortfall. I then called Wesbank to try to resolve the matter amicably but I was not assisted. To my surprise when I went to renew the disc this year June 2022, I was told that I was not going to get a new disc because the golf's disc was not renewed. I tried to call Wesbank and I have been sent from pillar to post and being given different settlement quotations such as R238 898.04 on the 09th September 2022 and R73 140.10 on the 03rd November 2022 while my credit status at credit bureau is further dilapidating severely, to the extent that Wesbank is claiming that I am on the 15-month arrears by now. The last person I spoke to told me that, the amount was floating since last year because the insurance used the wrong reference number when making the payment and it was only correctly allocated on 12 October 2022.
I cannot buy anything now due to this Wesbank error as my credit score is very poor.
