Think before buying a car through Wesbank & their approved dealers
Don’t trust WesBank or any of WesBank ’s-approved dealerships, this is what I now believe in my heart! I’ve been paying for a vehicle for 26 months since July 2022, and the vehicle is not even in operation and can’t be used, the dealership:” Toncor CC, trading as Top Speed Motors, does nothing and WesBank is dead quiet, but they take their instalments, like clockwise, every month, the Industry Ombudsman found and recommended that the deal be cancel by the bank. I’ve been with FNB for most likely more than 20 years, read my story. I bought a vehicle through a Wesbank-approved motor dealership, Toncor CC, trading as Top Speed Motors, Top speed motors for short, from the test drive, the vehicle displayed an error, the WesBank’s-approved dealerships Top Speed Motors explained it was something minor and just had to re-set the error code, or at most replace a small sensor, but this will be resolved before collecting the vehicle. On collection day, the dealer a WesBank’s-approved dealerships, named: Top Speed Motors, assured me that the error code was gone (it was), but if I have any issues, I can simply bring the car back to this WesBank’s-approved dealerships and they will gladly fix it. This was also noted on the contract between myself and the Wesbank-approved motor dealership. For the next 6 months, the car was hardly in use and consistently went back to the Wesbank-approved motor dealership, Top speed motors, to be repaired but only a day or two after delivery the vehicle would give the same problem. As per the Consumer Protection Act, I tried to cancel the deal, electronically via email & phone, I also used a lawyer’s letter and a hand-delivered letter, but this Wesbank-approved motor dealership, only gave me absolute lies. I approached WesBank’s complaint department, but not helpful at all. Only received requests to send information but not assist in any matter. I also approached many independent people to assess the vehicle and to provide me with reports, including FORD, and the reports indicated that the vehicle had some major concerns and some indicated that the vehicle is unsafe to use. I constantly communicated with WesBank but then informed WesBank and WesBank ’s-approved dealerships that I would approach MIOSA, the Motor Industry Ombudsman of South Africa. MIOSA’s ruling was in my favour, with the recommendation that the deal should be cancelled by the bank. I have paid for this vehicle since July/ Aug 2022, its now been 26 months since Jul 2022. What has Wesbank done? Taken my instalments, every month! Never helping me with my problem and the Wesbank-approved motor dealership? They still selling cars to consumers, in my experience, questionable cars, but they are a Wesbank-approved motor dealership. This deal in accordance to me is *****ulent and it is time that WesBank is held responsible for their and their Wesbank-approved motor dealership’s misrepresentation and part in the dealing of this case. I have been with FNB for more than 20 years probably, and I have bought some vehicles through Wesbank. I will not advise any person, entity and/or business, to trust or to use Wesbank and/or WesBank’s-approved motor dealerships for private or business deals, as the service I received, was shocking, misrepresented, inadequate, unprofessional, and in my opinion, amounted to ***** from both, WesBank and their WesBank approved dealership.
