Terrible service from WesBank and unfair practices.

I have been banking with FNB for a long time, when I wanted to apply for vehicle finance it was nothing short disappointing, I submitted my documents on the 04/01/2020, and I had to call to find out how far my application was, with no communication I was getting frustrated, I was eventually assigned a marketer Marlize who told sent me an email after I prompted it on the 17/01/2020 and on the quotation my interest rate was 16.24%, I’ve got a good credit rating and I am a good payer on all my accounts, I asked her why and she said it’s non negotiable as that’s what I qualify for. I was surprised as I have a colleague who is white, with WesBank, she was never asked about her accounts, she earns less than I do, as I am her supervisor, and got a deal of prime minus 1. I’m utterly disturbed by how I was treated and why I got a higher interest rate and Marlize’s dismissive behavior towards me. I considered taking my banking elsewhere.

So I got a call from Clara, who told me that I’m of a higher risk due to my time of employment (over a year) and not having a property, and that race does not play a role in how I was rated. But still no one can tell me how I’m a risk and why it took Marlize weeks to contact me with a quotation of the exorbitant interest rate, the lady at FNB also told me, when I went to close my account that she’s shocked as it’s also higher than the people who are from other countries.
