Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and affording us an opportunity to address your concerns.
As a service driven organization, WesBank strives to render unsurpassed service excellence to all our valued customers with every interaction. It is therefore extremely disappointing when we fall short of your expectations.
We contacted you directly to clarify that a settlement quotation is only valid if the outstanding capital balance is paid with a nominal contribution towards the interest accrued over the respective period. Whenever the notice period is extended, either by the user or when the dates coincide with contractual details, the settlement will be adjusted accordingly to make provision for the scheduled instalment because a consumers civil agreement with a service provider does not negate the underlying obligation in terms of the credit agreement. In this instance the dealer was aware of the conditions applicable and therefore paid the higher amount to exonerate any further financial obligation in terms of repayment.
This has been directly communicated to you for clarity and the account was closed successfully.
Yours faithfully,
WesBank
