Refuses to assist

My wife passed away last year.
She had 2 cars financed via wesbank, there was no credit life cover.

I was not advised to continue payments as we were told there was a life policy.
We heard nothing from wesbank for months and we assumed that there was a life policy.

Last month they decided that they want the cars back, via my lawyer we have tried to negotiate that I take over the cars but the person we are dealing with has absurd conditions for this to take place.
No amount of talking is making any difference, only mails insisting on the cars being returned, being threatened that the sherrif is on his way etc!!
I'm prepared to take over the cars but wesbank staff are being obstructive.
It appears that they would rather go through all the expenses of selling the car and trying to recover the outstanding amount instead of being reasonable and trying to assist.

Hello wefbjr guilgfsef,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Let me use this opportunity to extend our condolences for your loss as well as humbly apologising for failing to respond to query sooner.

We wish to highlight that it was not the Bank that advised you to withhold payment on the account because you have clarified that this advice was acquired independently. Notwithstanding same, you have subsequently been contacted and the petition to refinance the two agreements in your personal capacity will be escalated to the appropriate senior managers for consideration.

Yours sincerely.
