Problem closing vehicle account
On the 22nd December I paid 30k into my vehicle finance account to settle and have the account closed.
My capital balance was around 29k.

I have phoned repeatedly to get confirmation of account closure since then, and was only told yesterday (4th Jan) that I would have to send through proof of payment of the 30k (which was confirmed as paid by Wesbank) in order to close the account.

Reason... wait for it... is that because I overpaid by the account by a grand odd... you couldn't close the account and in order to refund me the surplus (into any of my FNB accounts nogal) you need proof of payment??

Now, I'm no Chris Hart here... but SURELY this also sounds ludicrous to you??

Its simple:

- I owe you 29k for a vehicle
- I pay you 30k
- You close the account
- You give me back the 1k surplus into any of my FNB accounts
- You give me back the other 1.1k which you debited from me in the meantime while messing around.

Feel free to incorporate the above steps into your array of innovation awards... consider it my gift to you.

In the meantime, I have sent through proof of payment to your service email address and hope that you will close my vehicle account by COB tomorrow.

Thanks
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and affording us this opportunity to look into the inquiry.
Let us also use this opportunity to humbly apologise for this poor service delivery and the inconvenience you have experienced. We have been in contact with you, confirmed that the refund along with the request for the registration document has been processed and explained to you. We will only be in a position to close the account tomorrow once the refund to you reflects on the your WesBank account and will advise you accordingly once that is processed.
We hope that our intervention was satisfactory and that our efforts have restored your faith in the WesBank.
Kind regards,
WesBank
