Private Finance sale process lacking
I recently sold my vehicle privately to a buyer who decided to use Wesbank Private Finance to finance the deal. Proactively I took the vehicle to Dekra who informed me that I would require a 101 Multi-point check and a roadworthy test - which I did. On receiving the document requirements and agreements from Wesbank I noticed that the 101 Multipoint check had been scratched out and \Full Technical Test"written in by hand. I contacted Wesbank and they advised that this was a new requirement and Dekara had been informed about this. I contacted Dekra and the confirmed that they had absolutely no idea about this requirement. To contextualise - this is a 2 year old vehicle still under the manufacturers warranty and service plan - why on earth is a technical test required?? It was also originally financed by Wesbank with whom I settled the outstanding finance last week!. Aside for the additional cost I now have to carry (over R1000 more) I have to waste my time by taking the vehicle in all over again. Dekra was nice enough to agree to credit the 101 point check toward the costs of the new test - well done to them. Wesbank"
