Pre approval and decline

To Wesbank vehicle finance

Shopping around for a vehicle isn't an easy task and getting the right deal is important, so my partner and I decided on a vehicle and the dealer app**** for finance through Wesbank he got back to us the very same day, and said he has an approval from Wesbank subject to a R45000 deposit . He then said that we need to get the deposit which we did then the next morning we were ready to do the deal Wesbank then tells them after giving us an approval and asking for a deposit that they will not do the deal an decline us. So simply Wesbank mislead us gave us false information and decided to decline and go against there word on what there initial decision. Honestly that's not how a professional company should treat there potential clients. And we would like to know why this happen

Thank you
Hello kylenchezy,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and affording us the opportunity to address this issue comprehensively.

As a service driven organisation, WesBank goes to great lengths to render unsurpassed service excellence to all our valued customers with every interaction. It is therefore extremely disappointing when our actions have caused you to question the Bank's integrity.

The success of any preliminary application is based on the information that is available at the time however as prescribed by the National Credit Act (NCA), the credit provider must exercise due diligence to validate the prospective undertaking as well as ensuring the soundness of the possible extension. This means that it is possible to initially receive a provisional approval that is later declined if the finance criterion is not met.

We trust that this is in order.

Regards,

WesBank
