Poort support from Wesbank after private sale
I bought a car privately through Wesbank. Before finace approval the AA had to evaluate the car to make sure the vehicle is roadworthy. The car was taken to Dekra AA in Pretoria North by the seller and a roadwothy certificate was issued. According to this report there was nothing wrong with the car. The financing was approved and I took ownership of the car. Unfortunately, from the day I got the car, I experienced problems. The engine light stayed on and there was a knock on the left hand side of the car. Wesbank told me to take the car to the nearest AA, which was Randburg. It was clear that there were discrepancies between their report and the one initially done at Pretoria North. They said they would only replace the CV boot on the car because it is the most important. They wanted to know when I would bring the car, but I decided to get a third opinion and took the car to Bosch Northcliff who found even more faults on the car. <br> I informed Wesbank of this but the said only the CV boot would be repaired. I am very dissatisfied with the service from the AA and Wesbank. I understand the issue of wear and tear
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.
We wish to highlight that WesBank Private Finance takes every reasonable precaution during the application process in an effort to minimise as well as mitigating the risk observed with this type of transaction. We can however neither envisage nor prevent the possibility of vehicle failure after the credit action is concluded because the Bank is not the seller of the Goods and have not selected the Goods in question whilst hoping that every consumer had also inspected and driven the vehicle before committing to the purchase.
Notwithstanding this, your concerns will be escalated to the appropriate manager for a thorough investigation and will revert to you accordingly.
Assuring you of our best intentions at all times.
Yours sincerely,
WesBank
