Pathetic responses by Wesbank, for decline after approval.
I decided to first liaise with Wesbank and got an online approval before securing a vehicle with dealership. I received my first approval document on 6/10/2020, however vehicle was sold prior to me securing it. I was then unable to find a similar vehicle and opted to go for something different at a higher price. I liaised with the Wesbank representative allocated to me and requested guidance, and provided him with a snippet of a vehicle advert after confirming availability with dealership. On 9/10/2020 I received a new approval document from Wesbank for this specific vehicle, which was subject to validation of my payslip and proof of residence. I requested a quote from the dealership, however they preferred that I sent my payslip, ID, licence and POR to them with my Wesbank approval reference so they can liaise from their side. The next day I visited the dealership to find out that Wesbank declined me. I sent an email to Wesbank and only to find out days later that someone else took over my application at Wesbank and could not explain the reason for decline after the approval was generated. I was then told that ITC had updated. When asked for further explanation, I was told that I used my credit card which could have dropped my score. Truth is I don’t have a credit card. Wesbank is then trying to provide various other reasons along the way, but not looking at the fact that I was already approved and the dealership was not directed to the representative allocated to assist me further. Only God knows what the other person had done on the system and whether he tried to process as a new application which could have obviously declined to over commitment. Nobody is willing to look at that persons actions, but Wesbank is trying to push the blame back to me. This is very unprofessional of Wesbank which is really divided between their own business units. It seems to be an excellent idea of having a representative allocated to walk you through your online approval, but the difference business units work against each other, only to disappoint with a decline after the dealership gets involved. I was told that approval last for 3 months, then told it last for 7 days, but nobody can provide a reasonable explanation why it couldn’t last for 24 hours. No dealership seems interested to work through a potential customer, and want to submit everything from their side. After various attempts, Wesbank is still bull****ting with their different responses, and not prepared to provide the feedback on a letter, which I plan to take further. I don’t wish this to happen to anyone else, so don’t mind taking the time to refer this to any forum.
