Online|telephonic application - dead end

I app**** for an online appliction to purchase a Land Rover Defender from a dealer. I proceeded with the online application process only to get to the first part of the process instructing me to call a consultant as follows: "This application would require a consultant to assist and advise you. Please either call us on ***during working hours or e-mail us at ********** with your details and we will contact you. ".

I subsequantly called the number and a consultant ansered, only to tell me they can't proceed with any telephonic advice|application and that I must go back online!

I kindly let the consultant know that that is what I had done and based on the instructions online called the number, so I was in a catch 22 situation!

The supervisor "Geshin" then took over the call and told me that they cannot and will not help me, even to transfer me to the relevant department, and threatned to terminate the call.

I find this type of service despicable, especially if the online process gives you an instruction without any reference!

I have been a customer of Wesbank for years with a clean record - does this not justify customer service behavior?

Regards

Martin

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention, affording us an opportunity to address your concerns.
We are yet to obtain the call recording between yourself and the consultant in order for us to follow our internal disciplinary process. We have since been in contact with you, explained why you were not able to proceed with the online application and we completed the application with you telephonically and further informed you of our requirements for us to possibly proceed with the application.
We hope that our intervention was satisfactory and that our efforts have restored your faith in WesBank.
Kind regards,
