Not willing to help an existing customer

I have finance with Wesbank, I want to trade-in my car for another car and they are refusing to help me with finance. First it was an issue that I do not meet the affordability of the car, although the instalment will be less than what I am currently paying. When that issue was resolved then it came to my ITC score is to low. I cannot understand that point because my credit history is 100% clean, all the accounts is paid up including Wesbank. I have never missed a payment due. Nothing in my credit world has changed since I bought this car, so why can I not get finance on a car?? This is not fair to existing loyal customers.

Hello smitter,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and affording us the opportunity to address your concerns.

Each application is assessed independently in line with good governance as well as the regulations prescribed by the National Credit Act (NCA). Although your existing account has been conducted adequately, we have to consider your current financial obligations which contribute your overall exposure observed, the proposed deal structure along with expenses you have declared whilst taking the asset you wish to procure (including the pricing according to the market related equity) before arriving at an informed decision. In terms of the applications received or rather how they were submitted, the resulting repayments will increase significantly and this is contrary to that which is stated herein. We suggest that you apply for a newer vehicle with a lower sale price to align same to your existing Agreement in order to ensure the success of application.

We trust that this is in order and assure you of our best intentions at all times.

Yours sincerely,

WesBank
