No Feedback

I have contacted Wesbank on Tuesday in respect of an account which I paid off last year but recently have been issued with Summons for the same account. I have contacted Wesbank to help me and provide me with a written notice that the account was indeed settled. Its been a week and I have not received any feedback from them. I was given a name and contact detail of an agent - Lerato Mohapi on *** and I have been trying that number ever since and I am unable to get through to them. Wesbank promises fast and efficient service but fails to comply. Time is of the essence and I need urgent help or Judgement will be granted against me. Its frustrating as I have proof of payment and a letter stating that the account was settled and closed. Now after a year I'm being sued for the something which was rightfully settled. Its inconveniencing me as I have to now incur legal cost because of Wesbanks irresponsible administration. Its becoming really frustrating that I cannot get any help from Wesbank.

Hello calcro,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and affording us the opportunity to address this issue comprehensively.

According to our records, the legal agency that was tasked to collect on the outstanding balance advised you in November 2014 that the debt to which you referred as 'settled' is in fact a Nedbank credit agreement as opposed to the WesBank account which has not received payment since 28 February 2014. This was confirmed with Nedbank (***) however further details would only be available once a valid power of attorney is produced. The documents received were confirmed to have no relation to the Renault Megane that was financed through WesBank or any FirstRand Banking entity. We cannot accept any liability for payments that are made to different institution even if the intention was to pay the WesBank account. You will therefore have to consult with Nedbank for further clarity in this regard because our influence therein is limited.

Please be guided accordingly.

Regards,

WesBank
