Wesbank debited my account on the 19th of the month. 2 Days before my debit order date which is also the date my salary gets deposited into my account. This resulted in my account going into excess which results in fees and loss of certain benefits. When I inquired they sent me an electronic contract with the correct debit order date, which I agreed to, but a clause that says they can debit my account 2 days before in case of a public holiday. I am sure there are many more clients affected by this clause. I did not agree to that clause and although The contract was electronically signed, the clause was not discussed with me and makes no sense as there would be no funds available. I would've never agreed to that and I did not physically sign by the clause. Wesbank hurts clients with recklessness like this and affect their credit record negatively. Terrible business. It doesn't make sense to debit before the date as most clients select their debit order dates for after their salaries come in. Wesbank should change this clause in the interest of their customers and themselves. The next car I finance will definitely not be through Wesbank.
