Need Urgent Assistance with WesBank Vehicle Issue – Affecting My Business and Credit Score

Hi everyone,

I’m desperately seeking help with a frustrating issue involving WesBank and a vehicle I financed. Here’s what happened:

I purchased a car that was listed as diesel in the contract, but it turned out to be a petrol model. This mistake has caused me massive problems:

Motor Plan Denial: I couldn’t claim for repairs (like a new clutch, service, Aircon and engine repairs) and had to pay out of pocket.

Installment Discrepancy: I’ve been paying installments for a diesel vehicle but driving a petrol one.

Partial Refund: Two years later(2024), the dealership acknowledged the mistake and refunded R50,000 for the purchase price difference, but this doesn’t cover the overpaid installments or repair costs.

This issue has severely affected my business because I rely on the vehicle for work, and the financial strain has made it difficult to operate. Additionally, my credit score has taken a hit due to the unresolved dispute and the financial burden of covering unexpected costs.

I’ve tried to resolve this with WesBank, but nothing has been done. I even approached the Ombudsman, but they can’t assist because my company’s turnover is under R2 million, and I need legal representation, which I can’t afford.

I’m asking for:

A refund of the difference in installments I paid for a diesel vs. petrol vehicle.

Cancellation of contract

This situation has caused me immense stress and financial hardship. If anyone has advice or has been through something similar, please help. WesBank, I urgently need your intervention to resolve this.

Thank you, +*** Larry Mots
