Mileage rollback from Wesbank Auction

I purchased a vehicle from the Wesbank Online Auction in 2025. Mileage around 5000kms Upon purchasing I realised quickly that the vehicle was falsely advertised. It had been noted” dents and scratches” to which I immediately emailed Lee Jacson who is incharge there. He stated that they displayed pictures showing the odometer which showed certain lights. Unfortunately, this does not say it was in a terrible accident. Previously repaired. Seatbelts locked, airbags were deployed, drivetrain issue, just to name some.

I left it at that and cut my losses as I believed I still had a good deal going.

A year later and my BMW is due for a service. I take the car to BMW, only for them to tell me that the mileage was rolled back and the true mileage is 136000kms.

Firstly this is *****, false adverti*****t Secondly I overpaid for the car. Thirdly how will I get insurance cover if I were to crash the vehicle. How will I sell or trade the vehicle with the incorrect mileage showing?

I feel like a ******** owning this car now. I have spent money on fixing whatever I could. I’ve been paying my Instalment for the past year. Fuel. Wear and tear, etc.

I am now forced to take private legal action as Wesbank claim that I should have read the mileage clause. How do I check true mileage with BMW South Africa as the branch couldn’t even check this, without owning the vehicle?
