Insurance premiums still being deducted 3 months after cancellation of policy

Your Ref: Policy No. ********** 36 M Spangenberg.

I have requested the cancellation of my insurance policy on the 18th of January 2017 to **********
I followed up on the 23rd of January and was asked to forward my request for cancellation along with a confirmation of cover to ********** which I did.

I received an email from ********** on the 24th of January indicating that my policy has been updated.

"Good day Martin,

We thank you for the proof of insurance provided and advise that we have updated the account accordingly."

I was then debited for my "cancelled" insurance policy for February, March and April 2017 (R531.36 x 3 = R1594.08), effectively paying double insurance premiums for my car for these three months seeing as my new insurance policy came into effect begin February 2017.

I simply wish to have my policy cancelled (properly this time) and be refunded the three debits from my account. I've received confirmation that my "Account has been updated accordingly" twice already, but in spite of this I still get debited each month.

I have noticed a decline in the level of service from Wesbank over the last two years, it is utterly disappointing to say the least and I hate to have to resort to HelloPeter to resolve things, being an existing Wesbank client and all...

Martin Spangenberg
