Incompetence and arrogance

In order to obtain the border crossing documentation for my vehicle I had to make a cash payment to Wesbank. I was advised that the payment will reflect within 48h, and from that point I will have the required documentation within 72h. I transferred the amount from my FNB account, to my linked Wesbank account on Monday. But by the COB today (Wednesday) it still have not reflected. I have made numerous calls to both FNB and Wesbank, only to face *********** and arrogant call centre staff (Khumo Sebaka & Wiesaal Sallie) at Wesbank who does not take a moment to listen to the nature of the issue. I was further informed by Wesbank no money was paid to them, despite being able to see that the money went out my FNB account to them. Which raises a different question as to how easily Wesbank staff can go through the various personal accounts of clients. Right now I run the risk of not having the required border crossing documentation in time, despite sticking to Wesbank's timelines which they don't have to adhere to in their opinion. I upheld my side, but clearly Wesbank does not have to.

Hello jplouw,

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention and affording us the opportunity to address same.

As a service driven organisation, WesBank goes to great lengths to render unsurpassed service excellence to all our valued customers with every interaction. It is therefore extremely disappointing when our actions have caused you to question the Bank's integrity, for which we humbly apologise.

The payment for R6 000.00 did not interface with our systems automatically due to an incorrect reference being used however we have manually allocated same so that the border letter could be drawn accordingly.

We hope that this is in order and assure you of our best intentions at all times.

Yours faithfully,

WesBank
