How can we help you??
When i went on maternity leave 5 years ago, my then car was financed with Absa. I was able to \freeze\" my car installment for the 4 months duration of my leave as we all know South Africa and companies do not give fully paid leave. They just extended my car repayment term with an extra 4 months which helped them in interest and really assisted me with surviving with the pennies I got whilst on maternity leave. I am now with Wesbank, called them this morning as I am due end April and need to start tying up loose ends only to be told, sorry they cant help me. They can allow me to pay half for 3 months, but there will be penalty charges and my credit rating will reflect arrears?? That is not allowing me anything. Is it true that there is no way I could be assisted as Absa did in the past as I have no idea who to speak to and really really need this help. I cannot rely on UIF to pay on time??"
Thank you for raising your concerns and allowing us the opportunity to respond.
The relevant management has made contact with you to clarify the process and to discuss a payment arrangement. WesBank no longer provides contract extensions on agreements, however you can contact one of our partners Direct Axis for alternative options available.
Kind regards,
WesBank
