Failure to inform client of increased installment
I have app**** for a 3 month payment holiday due to COVID 19 which had an impact on my earnings Which wesbank granted to me over the period. I was set to start repayments in august only to find out that my vehicle installment has increased by almost R900 extra. I then called wesbank to get some info as to why this has happened. The consultant whom i spoke with was no help at all so I requested to speak with a manager. The manger then called me later in the day to find out what was the issue. I mentioned to her that no where in the addendum which i signed does it mention that once the 3 month relief is over would my installment increase nor did the consultant explain to me any of this Her response to me was that they have had a few different changes to the addendum over a period and it could of been a typo as to why the contract i signed does not state my installment would increase. I mentioned to her had this been explained to me from the start I would of never accepted the payment holiday and would of made alternative arrangements to source funds to pay my installments during the 3 months. Her response to me is that she is sorry but there is nothing which could be done. And i have no other option but to pay the new installment amount. This is ridiculous that wesbank does not disclose this type of information to clients and only once clients enquire are they made aware of. Very disappointed by this as i am in no position to be paying the increased installment.
