Failure To Close Off Account After Settlement Has Been Paid
On the 29th of April 2019, my insurance paid a settlement amount for my car that was written off earlier in April. I called Wesbank a week later to find out when the account will be closed and I was transferred to Ismail Kimmie who didn’t pick up the phone, apparently he is the only person in the entire organisation that can resolve my situation. I phoned the following day and after being placed on hold for several minutes Ismail Kimmie answered, might I add that Ismail Kimmie is a very rude man. His attitude aside, it seems he either hates his job or is just plain ***********. It’s no surprise that his name appears in almost all the Wesbank Hellopeter complaints. Anyway, Kimmie told me that it takes 10 working days after settlement is paid to close off an account. On Monday the 13th of May I phoned once again and this time Kimmie was supposedly not available, how convenient, but the agent on the phone, Phindile I believe was her name, assured me that my account is booked to be closed off on Friday the 17th of May. It’s the 18th of May today and the account is still very active. I phoned your call centre again and I was told Kinmie does not work on Saturdays and that I will have to call again on Monday because no one in the whole of Wesbank can help me. My Wesbank debit order is scheduled for the 23rd and I’m worried that at this rate it will definitely go off, and should I reverse the debit order Wesbank will not think twice before staining my credit record. This whole experience has been horrible and believe me when I say I will make it my mission to deter anybody and everybody from doing business with Wesbank. Yes it will not affect a large organisation like that but at least those around me will not live to experience this kind of treatment.
