Early Settlement Penalty
A Vehicle was settled and as per the contract an early settlement would be charged unless a 90 day notice period was given. The early settlement is stated not to be more than 3 months worth of interest that the financer would have lost due to no notice.

I settled the vehicle and subsequently after the settlement another premium went off due to Westbank's inability to manage their own debit order authorisations.

The early termination penalty was charged which was NOT 3 x the interest as per the contacts clause. Also I am claiming that the premium deducted was considered 30 days notice out of the 90 required which is deductible from the penalty as per the clause in the contract.

Obviously all attempts from my side to contact the call centre and get a person who could calculate the penalty and understand my argument has been futile as Westbank has already taken my money and RUN! Numerous false promises from the call centre that the incident is being investigated and that a senior product consultant would contact me. None of which has happened to my satisfaction.

Blatant and utter breach of contract, my next move would be the Ombudsman or legal consultation.

Pathetic service
Thank you for affording us the opportunity to investigate your concerns.
A relevant management has been in contact with you to explain and clarify the early settlement fee that the Bank charges. Upon request of the settlement the last instalment remains due and does not reduce the 90 day early settlement fee charged. Remember a settlement is applicable for a specified period and a new one should be requested when the old has lapsed. A resolution and an understanding has been met between yourself and the Bank.
We hope you find the above in order.
Warm regards,
WesBank.
