Disgustingly heartless vultures!
<div>I had a vehicle financed by Wesbank in 2016. I paid R 80 000 deposit for a car that was selling for R 289 000. The baloon payment imposed was R 76 000. I have been paying religiosly for the car up until 2020 when COVID hit- I lost my income and had to find other means to survive. Regardless....I still tried to pay for the car up until it was paid up and I was only left with the baloon payment which was due on fhe 27th of December 2021. A lady called Anita from a collections agency called me and I was in quarantine at that time, I explained to her that I am fully aware of the contract coming to an end and that I needed to pay, as I have started a small business on the side and have been employed again. End of January I paid 18 000 towards the arrears which then left me with only ghe baloon payment. On the 15th on February 2022 I paid 6000 and on the 27th of February I paid yet another R 5000. Which I was still charged interest on the account, nonetheless....I made contact with her and advised her that there has been death in the family and we had to pay for cash for the funeral. Not even once had I avoided the calls nor ignored the emails. I pledged to pay R 30 000 at the end of March 2022 and asked that the remainder of R 35 000 to be paid over 2 months. I received no response, instead I was called by a lady from Wesbank who said that I need to apply for a refinance. How do I go about doing that when Weabank has listed the debt as overdue and messed up my credit profile as a person who is over commited because of the baloon payment? I told her that I will consider doing so but at that moment I was still in moarning and was not in a good emotional and pschological state to deal with finance applications. I assured her that I will be paying R30 000 end of the month, of which she was not interested in listening to that. On Monday- 2022/03/14 I received an email from Anita stating that I had agreed to apply for a refinance, which was news to me as I did not agree to that. I merely said that I needed to think about it and in any event it is pointless because Wesbank has messed up my profile on ITC. Yesterday on the 15th of March 2022 I received a call from a yet another person called Ali Kabongo from a company called Asfin, a very rude and arrogant agent who said to me that even if I owed R 10 000 the bank will reposess the car. I explained to him that I am not in a good state of mind and emotion to deal with any of this, however I am willing to pay an amount of R 30 000 end of the month. I have been a through a very bad patch in life as a result that on the day of the funeral I had a very bad accident ant the car is currently not driveable. But nonetheless I will sacrifise my children's bread and butter and pay the R30 000 and then pay for the repairs later. He was not interested, instead he hailed threats and said that it's either I pay the money or return the car....but how when the wehicle is a non drive? I told him that I sent an email to Anita from FDE Security explaining what had happened. He said I need to send him a copy of that email, of which I did so and he said he will revert back to me. This morning I received yet another threatening email from him stating that I will have to settle the vehicle or surrender it to Wesbank since my contract has expired. Would I be chasing payment like this if I was not aware of the fact that the contract has expired? I took responsibility by making a pledge to pay almost 50% of the amount due within 2 weeks, on top of that I am paying for the car that has been damaged and not driveable. But being the responsible citizen that I am....I am still willing to pay because the onus is on me to honor the debt to Wesbank. All that I have asked for was 75 days to settle this debt and move on with my life. I am a mother who is reliant on the said vehicle to transport my children to school, commute to work and still run a sideline business that I have started of which I had volunteered to submit statements proving additional income that the business brings. I am in a position to pay the monies owed but the way that Wesbank has been sending vultures to hound me for payment is beyond me! I am deeply disgusted by the treatment that I have received from Wesbank and I vow never ever to use them again not to recommend them to anyone!</div>
