Disgusting treatment!!

Disgusting treatment from Wesbank. I app**** recently for financing, and I have been rejected. Reason: The client might have conducted his wesbank account in an unsatisfactory manner previously.

I had a vehicle finances in 2015 through Wesbank. Due to unforeseen changes to my financial situation, I had to secure my assets and apply for debt counselling. They helped consolidate my debt and I managed to make every monthly payment until beginning of 2018 where I settled all of my accounts. My financial situation improved over this time, I sold the car in September of 2018, the full balance of the car was settled, and I was released from Debt Counselling. From September 2018 until now, (2 and a half years later) I have maintained a healthy credit record, my financial independence has improved, I am more than capable of affording a car (I have been paying a car installment for a car on my wife's name for the last 2 and a half years) and I am ready to apply for car finance so I can finally have a car on my own name, and Wesbank STILL holds what happened almost 3 years ago against me! Why? Is this fair???

Good Day Wesbank

This is a follow up to my complaint yesterday.

I want to inform you that I also app**** for vehicle finance with MFC and they approved me within a day for vehicle finance.

I got a call from Nthabiseng Motsepe yesterday. The application went from "declined due to the way customer his previous managed Wesbank account in the past" to "if you pay a 10grand deposit I will approve you"

This is absolutely disgusting behavior. MFC does not require me to pay a deposit. I am not buying the vehicle at retail value. I am buying it a the remaining settlement value from my wife. Why do you need 10 grand from me. So in other words, I can actually get approved, despite being told my application was declined, but you first want to ****** me with money before approving my application??

I have bought vehicles in the past with MFC and WesBank at retail value (what the garage charged me) and even then I didn't need to pay a deposit.

I also want to inform you, that this finance application came about because of an agreement I had with Mpho Seleka, a FNB consultant and my wife's private banker, who asked me to move my banking account and credit card account from Nedbank to FNB and become an FNB client. I told Mpho that if Wesbank can take over my vehicle finance, I will be willing to become a FNB client for life. The treatment I have with FNB thus far has been shocking and the last thing I want to do now is become a FNB client. My wife as a current FNB client is also questioning her future with FNB. So you would rather sacrifice TWO FNB clients, than accommodate a client with vehicle financing. Your credit approval system is dubious and questionable! I feel sorry for Mpho who has zero support from her colleagues and affiliate departments in attaining and satisfying customers for her employer.

If you will not approve my finance application, then I will sign with MFC. The only reason why I am still willing to continue this application is because I want to keep my word with Mpho. Unlike you, I have integrity. Maybe it's time your department learns what that is.

Woke up this morning opened up my inbox and all I could hear was the sound of crickets.

No response, nothing from Wesbank.

I forwarded my APPROVED Vehicle Finance deal from MFC to Nthabiseng Motsepe yesterday clearly showing my application had been approved with 0 deposit, so clearly a deposit is NOT mandatory, yet Wesbank seems to think so.

The reason given to me for why I should pay a deposit according to Wesbank was as follows: "The vehicle book value is R135 100 and the sale value of the vehicle is R140 000, hence a deposit is required for equity"

So a difference of +-R5000 but a deposit of R10 000 is required??? How is that "equity'??

Why when we initially bought the car for R185 000 and the book value was R150 000, there was no deposit or "equity" requirement!?!? And why does MFC not require this so-called "equity"???

What a bunch of bull****!!!!

I am waiting for a manager or someone in a senior position to get back to me regarding this dishonest and ********* business practice!
