Debit Order Change

I've been with Wesbank for just over a year now. Bought me a beautiful Convertible Mini Cooper S. So once I decided that this is what I am going with the dealership started with the financing papers and because I bank with FNB I was comfortable going ahead with Wesbank - was probably the worst mistake of my life. September 2015, I lost my job but 2 weeks later I was lucky enough to walk into another job. I emailed Wesbank to change my debit date because you just continuously hold on for someone to help you - even when I went into the bank for assistance they told me that I need to deal with Wesbank directly and I sat in a bankers office for almost 30 minutes just holding on until I gave up.

Months have now passed and recently I went to investigate all my accounts online. To my suprise I see that I am in arrears with my Wesbank account by R3000 - I called in and obviously had to hold on forever - eventually I was explained to that because of late payments I was being charged - Late payments? I explicity mentioned that I changed jobs and my salary date has changed and they need to change my debit - Yes they never changed my debit date and now I have to bear the grunt.

Recently I got an email back from someone with the surname of Colsol to explain to me that I need to call in blah blah blah the email that I sent the query from wasn't on the system blah blah blah (even though it had my ID number in the subject line as well as the vehicle details). They couldn't validate it then but they can tell me now I sent the email from another email address, which happens to be exactly the same the the account changed. Doesn't that mean that back then already you could pick up that it was me?

My question - Shouldn't you as a corporate company call the client for a misunderstanding like this? No I was told to call in and sort it out. Secondly, why should I be held responsible? And I can guarentee I will not pay that arrears amount in.

I work for Tracker - and if the client emails with a query that may need more information or verification - we would call the client back and do that, why put the onus on the client alone?

Recently bought me a Ford and did everything in my power to not go with Wesbank again. Totally disgusted in their level of customer service or rather the lack there of.
