Covid-19 - interest rate

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we are facing and the fact that interest rates were lowered. I sent a mail asking if the interest rate can be negotiated. I also asked if the Advance amount in the account if that can be used to reduce the term. The short response was:

Good day Sir/Madam, Thank you for your email. Kindly note your contract is on a fixed interest rate and therefore we cannot change your interest rate. People who are affected by the prime decrease are the ones on a linked interest rate. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for entrusting WesBank with your finances. Yours in service, Customer Service Centre *** www.wesbank.co.za Fax: *** I’m disappointed that I’m just a number to them and they don’t even take the time to read the full message.
