Condescending and Unhelpful Service from WesBank’s Ashley Stone
My experience dealing with Ashley Stone at WesBank has been deeply frustrating and unnecessarily prolonged.
Since January, I have repeatedly requested written confirmation of my debit order mandate and the banking details held on record. These requests were consistently ignored or deflected. Instead of answering specific, factual questions, I was repeatedly directed back to old email trails and urged to “choose an arrangement” without the clarity required to do so responsibly.
my account was referred to external collectors after not having been made aware of any arrears by Wesbank to begin with! This occurred even though I had not refused to pay — I was asking for confirmation of mandate details to prevent exactly the type of debit failure that has now occurred.
Most concerning was being informed that a debit order had “returned due to insufficient funds,” when there were in fact sufficient funds in my account. To this day, I am still waiting for proper confirmation of which account was debited, the amount submitted, and the official bank return code.
Throughout the process, responses have felt dismissive and procedural rather than solution-focused. Instead of addressing the inconsistencies I raised, the communication repeatedly imp**** non-cooperation on my part, which is inaccurate and unfair given the documented email trail.
All I have asked for is transparency, accurate mandate confirmation, and fair handling of my account. This experience has left me with little confidence in WesBank’s internal communication and dispute resolution processes.
