Avoid Wesbank like the Plague they are.

I have been a loyal Wesbank client with no missed payments and an account that is up to date for close to 10 years I was in a motorcar accident on 15 June 2025 due to a tyre burst On 26 June my insurance (through FNB) informed me that my vehicle was written off. On 26 June I wrote to Wesbank to inform them and did not get any response. 27 June - I tried to call the call centre - inoperational. 27 June - X post requesting alternative number. 28 June - I wrote to them again. No response. 30 June - Found an alternative number after getting a call following X post - helpful lady transferred me to a gentleman who helped me get my settlement statement quote - received on 1 July - submitted to insurance 8 July - Received a call from Patience Khunou asking for my insurance broker’s details 9 July - Received email from Patience asking if the payment has been made - it had not / awaiting outcome of accident investigation by Old Mutual investigator 21 July - Approached manager FNB Bergville to assist where possible to get a discount on interest on settlement as the vehicle would be settled in full before the end of the contract - after making enquiries he advised that I need to approach Wesbank Insurance Claims Department to assist 23 July - Received request from my insurance for the settlement quote - sent the one I received on 1 July. Patience sent one too - with a higher settlement value - indicating a higher interest amount - and still indicating charges for CoverPlus. 23 July - Emailed Patience raising a number of concerns - no response. 23 July - Emailed Patience requesting to make a conference call with my broker and I - no response besides automated email - with a number that did not work. 24 July - Wrote another X post expressing extreme disappointment 25 July - Premium for the Vehicle is debited 25 July - Received email from Wiesaal Sallie requesting for information on my complaint - submitted everything to him including screenshots of emails etc. 25 July - Received an email from Maria Motloaetsi - noting my concerns, claiming to have called and asking for proof of payment - I received several calls from ***, when answered there was no response on the other end. None of the concerns I raised were addressed. 28 July - Received a new settlement letter with no breakdown of the interest or anything else - but the figure is exactly the higher settlement quote minus the instalment

Furthermore, I need someone to explain the logic to me of requesting a proof of payment when ZERO of the concerns I raised since June have been addressed. I cannot sign a release form when I have concerns that are unresolved.

I also need someone to explain to me logically how it makes sense that within two weeks the settlement value increased considerably - when both letters were from WesBank - and why am I still paying for CoverPlus when the vehicle was written off - and besides that - when the policy served me no purpose since there would be no shortfall to cover in any event.

Thanks. However, I emailed you directly, Wiesaal, last week with no response to my email. Unfortunately the lady, Maria, you copied in the original email did not bother addressing any of my concerns either. Highly disappointing. I can, without issue, share the correspondence publicly if you believe a version different to what I have stated here.
