Appalling service, inefficiency and a total disdain for customers and customer service

It seems that Wesbank either doesn't want business, or employs staff that don't give a damn about customer service, specifically one Lesego Modibane at the Fairland, Johannesburg branch. This staff member does not return telephone calls or respond to emails most of the time. He has no sense of urgency at all.

The Wesbank system demands that you not only give a reference number but go through the hassle of giving loads of information (name, address, ID) before they will even try his internal line. Then, when he's engaged, they leave a message, which he doesn't return. Worse, he does not give all the information they need - it is released piecemeal and you have to prise this out of him. Why can't we be given a simple guide, setting out the process that will be required?

I am totally disillusioned with Wesbank - perhaps it's just this one member of staff, but I can only use my experience as a reflection of the organisation as a whole. Mr Modibane's disdain for customers has cost me financially and emotionally. What should have been a simple process has become protracted - it's now 18 days since the application was submitted! I was PROMISED that he would get back to me this afternoon without fail and, needless to say, he hasn't. If it didn't reflect on my credit record when a credit application is made, I would have gone elsewhere. I hope this gets to Ghana Msibi so he has some idea what his customers are put through.
