Absconding responsibility

<p>I bought a car through Wesbank around 2004( not very sure about the year) which used to be my Company car. In 2006 I resigned from my company due to domestic reasons(my daughter was sick and was hospitalised from time to time). I then opened my own business, a hair salon and a Recruitment agaency. Around 2007, I wanted to take my car, Audi A4, for a major service. I then called Audi Boksburg to ask for a quote, one of the service consultants, a guy by the name of Faizel answered the call and tlod me the service will be about 12 000 rands. I did not expect that and having just started two new businesses, I exclaimed that I would not afford that at which the guy told me to call him later.</p> <p>I called him later and he said he can fix my car for half the price. We agreed on about 7 000 rands and he came to collect the car from my house using the Audi tow truck. We never discussed how and where the car was going to be repaired. Later the next day he called to say there were other things wrong with the car and it will be good that he fixed them now otherwise it willbe much moreexpensive to fix them later.</p> <p> </p> <p>The cost of the car came to about 13000 rands. When he told me I told him I do not have the money and will have to wait. When I finally got the money which was about a month he said I need to pay for storage and the amount came to about 30000 rands. I told him I will not pay that much as we never agreed on the storage. To cut a long stor short, the guy refused to give me the Car back. Because of that my business suffered and I could not een meet my monthly car repayments. Wesbank then send its people, a Black guy whoverbally harrassed me, to come repossess the car and I told them they can have the car the only thing is, I do not have the car with me. Another Black guy came who was nicer and when I told him the story he promised to get the car from thi guy.</p> <p> </p> <p>At that time I had opened a case with the Benoni police who did very little to help I then resorted to reporting the matter to Audi Boksburg. An internal inquiry was held at the Dealership and from my understanding the guy wasdismissed. I went on to follow up with the guy from Wesbank and nothing came out of it. A new guy started contacting me and he also promised to do something. The last person I spoke with from Wesbank told me that they have contacted Faizel and he told them that the court has ruled in his favour and issued a court order for the car to be issued i his name. The bank asked him to bring proof of that and after several follow ups I gae up as he had for a while not showed up.</p> <p> </p> <p>My financial situation got worse and I decided to forget about the issue as Wesbank was still the owner of the car and new where the car was. This year i bought myself a car and wanted to renew the car registration only to be told by the Traffic department that i have a car that owes for licence renewal dating back to 2010. This is the same Audi A4 and before the amount of 5978.60 has been paid my car cannot be registered. I was issued with a temporary permit for 3 days which expires today to sort this out.</p> <p> </p> <p>The thing is, it does not make sense for me to pay for a car that I have not seen with my own eyes for more than 8 years. I went to Wesbank Boksburg yesterday to fgo find out what exactly the status with the car is as this is the same branch I went to to meet with one of the tracers to find out what the progress is with the car. At the time I lived in Benoni and have since moved back to me mothers house in Ga-Rankuwa, whilst waiting to find my own place. The guy who helped me called their legal and collections department and gave me to speak to them.</p> <p> </p> <p>I was told the status of the case is that it is still open, as a warrant of arrest was issued in 2013 to this guy as he arrassed the tracer who went to collect the car from him. The car was otherwise srapped and the parts sold. The bank never received the Court order and the car is still in my name. My debt with the bank is otherwise prescribed but am told owe the bank about 60 000 plus. Things do not make sense about this matter and I need to get to the bottonm of it as I need to move on with my life. This car issue caused me way too much grief and I do not want to go back there.</p> <p> </p> <p>I am lost as to what I should do as believe the case was left unfinished for three years now nothing happened and no one has let me in as to what was going on. This came as a shock as I thought the matter has been dealt with and is now water under the bridge. I am so dissappointed as no one want to assist and all the departments I trusted to deal with the matter, the police, Wesbank, the traffic department who insist that I pay this money has failed me. I want to know who else can assist me. Wesbank has been sitting with this car that has been owing for more than 8 years and has a warrant out for 3 years and still and did not update me on this state of affairs and now expext me to pay for it. Pleasehelp me understand this. I need closureon this matter and really really really want to move on. I have sufferred and been bul**** as a Black woman for way too long.</p>
