Wrong car with accident damage

I purchased my 2020 Renault Clio Dynamique from Webuycars in 2022. It looked clean and well-presented at the time, and as it was my first proper car, I was genuinely proud of it. Unfortunately, what I thought was a good purchase turned into one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve ever had.

A few months ago, while looking at upgrading to a newer model, I had another dealership inspect my Clio. The salesperson immediately noticed issues, misaligned doors, mismatched paint, visible putty work, missing clips and rubbers, and even fiberglass repairs. After a closer inspection, it looked like the vehicle had been in a front-right accident, something I was never told when I bought it.

To make matters worse, after running the car’s history, the dealership informed me that the car isn’t even a 2020 0.9 Dynamique model, it’s actually an 2020 1.0 Authentique. That means Webuycars sold me a vehicle under false information, both regarding its trim level and its accident history.

When I reached out to Webuycars to resolve the matter, their response was disappointing at best. They told me to visit an RMI-approved workshop for a damage assessment. I went to two different workshops, and both couldn't give me a quote, because they want to strip the car down to see the extent of the damage, advising me to take it back to the dealership. One of the technicians even pointed out that the brake booster pipe was glued to the intake, something that should never happen in a properly repaired vehicle or even be done AT ALL.

I asked Webuycars for a simple, fair resolution: take the car back and provide a reasonable amount that I could use as a deposit toward another vehicle, after all, I bought this vehicle at a low KM Dynamique model, but it's a Authentique that was in an accident...So I have been overpaying for the car all this time. Instead, I was sent on a frustrating wild goose chase from one workshop to another, wasting time, fuel, and patience, only to be told exactly what I already knew: the car was damaged, misrepresented, and should never have been sold as a non-accident vehicle.

At this point, I feel completely let down by Webuycars. Selling a damaged car under the wrong trim and pretending nothing is wrong is dishonest and *********. Buyers trust you to be transparent, and in my case, that trust was completely broken.

Reviewer Update
I am writing to follow up, once again, regarding the ongoing matter with my Renault Clio 2020, which Webuycars has already acknowledged, but have not done anything.

Despite several escalations and assurances that I would be contacted “the following day” or receive an update via email, I have received no response or progress update for over a week. This continued silence is unacceptable, given the seriousness of this case and the direct impact it is having on me.

Because this matter remains unresolved, I am unable to complete the trade-in process for my next vehicle. The dealership is effectively on hold because this investigation has not been finalised. I am now left in a position where I cannot proceed with a new purchase or move forward in any way until Webuycars concludes what it already knows to be a clear case of misrepresentation.

I therefore expect a formal response ASAP, If this does not happen, I will proceed with legal action under the Consumer Protection Act for misrepresentation, as well as for failure to act within a reasonable time, and I will have no choice but to make the details of this experience public.

This situation has already caused unnecessary stress and financial inconvenience. I am asking that Webuycars take immediate action to resolve this matter in good faith.
