Worst experience with We Buy Cars

I sold my car in February 2014 to We Buy Cars. At first I was very impressed. They come to your home and pay you immediately and you give them the deed. After that I kept receiving traffic fines and E-toll accounts of my sold car. I took it up with them several times to remove the car from my name. The only response I got was that they do not support E-toll and eventually they said they will register the car on their name. THEY NEVER DID!!! I went today 2016 to renew my vehicle license and where told that I can not do it until I pay my my old car licence that have not been renewed since 2014 I can not renew my new license!!!! THIS MEANS THAT SINCE 2014 THEY HAVE NOT REMOVED THE CAR FROM MY NAME , SOLD IT TO SOMEONE NEW AND NOW I SIT WITH THE ISSUES. I will NEVER recommend them!!!!

Hello SuzVenter,

My name is Dirk Van Der Walt, I am co-owner of the company, I will personally see to it that this gets rectified immediately, and we will reimburse you the cost if it is find that we were at fault.
May I point out that this is an irregular exception, we take great pride in the fact that we are highly disciplined in this matter - we promptly remove every client's vehicle from their name, and it is a very sorry affair that this is the first communication I have received in this regard.
As far as E-Toll is concerned that is a very complicated and controversial topic. We have no legal obligation in that regard, it is the client's own duty if they registered a car with e-toll, to de-register that vehicle from E-toll, we can't do it for them, but we do assist them by pointing them to the websites where they can download the forms and read about the relevant procedures.
But we do recognize fully that if we failed to change ownership on your vehicle due to negligence on our side, that such a situation would be unacceptable and we would do all in our power to rectify that for you, as that would certainly be a totally unacceptable situation.
I hope to post a follow up on this tomorrow.

Dirk
