What customer service?

Good day,

To be frank, I am appalled at the "customer service" I am still waiting to receive from WeBuyCars.

Please refer to the date that my mechanical complaint was logged. 3 August. The date that you received all the information you requested. 5 August.

That was a month ago.

A month ago, we raised our concern about the car we had purchased through your Silver Lakes branch. We had done our due diligence, taken the car for an inspection, and was notified of an engine knock that was not on the Dekra report.

This is our only transport. And every time we use the car, we risk the problem getting worse. We are merely waiting for your feedback - for you to advise us of next steps. We can't go ahead with a strip and assess to determine what the matter is (or how much it will cost) until you advise us of the procedure to do so.

This is an issue that has the potential of costing us TWICE the amount that we have already paid you for the car. For a month we have been living under this financial uncer*****y, all the while waiting to hear from you so that we can take the next step in determining what extent the issue is. For a month we have been living with the uncer*****y of whether driving the car - our only mode of transport - might cause an issue that not only puts our vehicle at risk, but also risks our ability to get to work and to the grocery store.

This for a car that we still don't have the registration papers for - because I also have had no response on Whatsapp in that regard. After repeated requests. This after customer service assured me that all I need to do to make these arrangements is to respond to your Whatsapp message. A customer service whose telephone line was "unavailable" for hours before I was able to get through - and I don't mean busy, I mean you were actually not able to connect to the call centre at all.

By the way, we arranged at the sale to have the papers couriered to us in George, we were assured it was possible. Then we got a whatsapp saying we must come pick it up in Pretoria, over 1000kms away. Don't bother with this one, I will send my brother to sort it out with you at the branch and get it to me, because honestly any other way is obviously going to take too long.

This email is going onto Hello Peter at the same time as being sent to you. I'm of the mind to contact the Ombudsman too, but thought you might like one more chance to respond to me.

Very disappointed customer. Jessica *** (please don't phone me, you'll need to respond to this email or engage with me on Whatsapp).

PS. As part of only email response I received on this matter, I was informed that it would take between 24 - 48 hours to process my request.
