Webuycars *********** people out of their hard earned money
I bought an audi A4 sport in September 2020 form Webuycars. When we test drive it was ok but eventual showed an airbag sign on the dash. I decided not to buy it then, but they called me again and said they have dropped the price by around R10 000. I then agreed to buy. I took the car to an audi center which confirmed that the car was in an accident. When I complained to Webuycars they showed me a clause that indicated that I signed to take the car with the airbag sign on. ( but they never said it was in an accident) I then sent the car to an airbag specialist who told me that the were absolutely no front airbag on the car. I paid R22 000 to fix. Now the issue is, in December 2020 the car showed a steering wheel sign on the dash, I reported to Webuycars and they said I must book it to a service provider to fix it, after 8 days booked Webuycars said the service provider was too expensive so they took the car to their own service provider in Pretoria. I spent Christmas without a car and the car was only back mid- January. I drove it for a week the steering wheel sign appeared again. I reported to Webuycars and they sent it to the JVR workshop in Pretoria again. JVR started saying the car was involved in an accident hence the steering wheel sign, I disputed that, and the fixed the sign, I drove for two weeks and the sign appeared for a third time, and they send the car somewhere in Centurion where they said are the people who initially fixed it in December. The car came back and drove a week and the sign is back again. I took the car to Audi Hartfield and they confirmed that the steering unit in the car was a second hand one hence it can not read on the computer box of my car. We buy cars is refusing to assist now because they alleged that JVR sent them photos showing that this is because the car was in an accident after the initial fix. My car was never in an accident when I owned it and the only issue here is that JVR installed a second hand steering unit but charged Webuycars around R65000. I requested the slips of the new unit but they can't provide to me. I need now to consult the legal practices to get this sorted. I agreed to buy the car with an airbag sign but was never told about an accident before buying( they did this deliberately just to sell) . They chose a service provider but no quality check was done after the repairs, now they claim that the car was in an accident which they also can not prove. I was dealing with a guy by the name of Piehan at Webuycars, and a lady called Tebogo at JVR workshop. Webuycars cars are *********** customers.
