WeBuyCars Putrid Service Received

After all the radio adverti*****ts and extensive marketing, I decided to sell my vehicle to WeBuyCars. The service DOES NOT live up to the adverti*****ts.

I dealt with Janco, who came out to inspect the vehicle. He provided me an inspection summary with the offer amount of R130,000. When we spoke again, he said that his manager said that he should offer R125,000. Where is the proof of the write-down together with the reason.

I contacted him again, ready to take the lower amount and he stated that he would need to inspect the vehicle again, making an offer on the 2nd viewing. I agreed to this. However he stated that he cannot come out to view as he is fully booked.

I called Janco yet again and suddenly, to my astonishment, he stated that the price WeBuyCars is willing to pay is R100,000. No viewing, just a dropped amount of R30,000 as he said the electrical light was on when he originally viewed it.

If that was the case, why did he offer R130,000 initially. PS: A dealership paid more than WeBuyCars original offer and they fully inspected it.

It makes one think if buyers at WeBuyCars are authorised to make subpar offers to customers they deem are desperate. Is this the WeBuyCars way of doing business? Surely this is a contravention in accordance with the consumer protection act, possibly even with the Financial Service Board too as amounts or offers are involved. In my opinion, WeBuyCars should take some of their advertising budget and use it on staff training with regards to customer service and maybe compliance.
